Daytona 2000 - Corvair Speedweek

The Sprint is equipped with a number of options including a 4-speed transmission, 3.55:1 rear axle with Positraction, a handling package, quick steering, padded dash, comfort and convenience group, and a special padded vinyl roof and "convertible sized" rear window for reduced glare at night.

The exterior appearance of the 1962 Corvair is unique from any angle, thanks to the stripes and other individualizing Fitch Sprint touches.

It's taken a lot of massaging to restore the Sprint to its current condition, and the car is basically all original with a few small exceptions made for safety, or to improve performance. Bill points out that the Hands wheels were not likely available on the '62 model, but he likes them! In fact, there's strong evidence John Fitch liked them too, as they were offered on later models of the Sprint.

More information on John Fitch and his late model Sprints is available in the Fitch section of this site.
