Daytona 2000 - Corvair Speedweek

The '67s interior is convincingly stock, and a hidden in-dash CD player updates the audio technology, pushing sound through a Kenwood amplifier and a Boston Acoustics speaker system.

For safety, Brandon installed four-point locking harnesses.

Below, a good side-on view of the hotrod yellow Monza, and further down the page, another pretty spectacular looking late model that caught my attention because of its 16" IROC Camaro wheels and fat tires.

Clearance problems?

I've often asked late model owners about wheel clearance when using larger than stock wheels and have rarely encountered anyone who couldn't make them fit, so long as a lower profile tire is used. There have been frequent discussions by members of the Virtual Vairs e-mail group on this subject, and the collective wisdom seems to revolve (pardon the pun) around maintaining the correct wheel offset. This preserves the wheel bearings, and prevents bump steer and other potential handling problems.
