Corvair Memorabilia and Collectibles

Motor Trend, January, 1965, featured an article comparing the Corsa with Ford's Mustang and Chrysler's Plymouth Barracuda. The Corvair got the cover.

A couple of years earlier, a caption on the cover of the May, 1963, edition of Car Life read, "Monza GT - tomorrow's Corvair?"

It was a reference to the still fresh GM design study. The GT was a major hit on the car show circuit, and it is said to have inspired the late model Corvair.

The Monza GT caught on with the makers of miniaturized automobiles as well. This low slung beauty looks like it could ride the slots with style.

Considered the father of the Corvair, Edward N. Cole graced the cover of the October 5, 1959, issue of Time magazine. This edition and the photograph of the late Mr. Cole and his proud creation has become a collector piece for serious Corvair fanatics.

At the right of the screen, a Racing Champions limited edition, 1960 Terry LaBonte Corvair. The miniture with an opening hood is another popular item.
