Corvair emblem Corsa Fall Classic at Clark's Corvair Parts

Under a solid overcast sky, John and I made our way onto the sprawling grounds of Clark's Corvair Parts hoping the rain would hold long enough for everyone to enjoy the Fall Classic, and for us to get some good Corvair pictures. As we approached, we were happy to see the weather hadn't kept too many owners away. We found a decent collection of both early and late models in the parking lot.

While the camera was being prepped, John made his way to the event tent to check on the day's schedule. He returned with disappointing news. "The judging's off," he said, "but most people are going to hang in. You should still be able to get some good shots."

The sky was darkening and the ceiling closing in, so we got busy.

Late model Corvair Sport Coupe

The first Corvair to catch our attention was this late model coupe. The car was in terrific shape, and appeared to us to be pure stock. We learned from fellow Corvair nut, Dave Berger, that the car was a '68, who tipped us that the front side marker lenses on a stock '68 are clear, whereas on a 1969, they are amber. The 1968 and '69 models were the only Corvairs equipped with side marker lights.

1965 Corvair Monza convertible

It was starting to drizzle on the well polished cars of the Fall Classic. You can see some water droplets forming on the hood of this beautiful '65 Monza owned by Jay Bleiler of Colonial Corvairs. We kept shooting.
